John Edwin Jamieson was born about 1864 in Southampton, Hampshire, England, the son of Jane (Robertson) Jamieson and James Jamieson.

He married Catherine Josephine Dunn in 1886 in Victoria, Australia.^[1] Their children were:

• Clarice Robertson Jamieson (1889–1977)^[2]
• James Alexander Jamieson (1891–1943)^[3]

John died on 19 September 1954 in Williamstown, Victoria, aged about 90 years.^[4][5]
