• News article about Isabel's 95th year states that sometime between 1843 and 1848 the James moved ther family from Tennessee to Missouri. This must have been the Spring of 1846, because that's when the term woud have expired for his Consable Duties. In 1846, two daughters died in Gentry County, Missuri. In the 1850 census they are living in Gentry County and Emily Jane is living at home.

William was the son of William Robert James, Sr. born 27 Apr 1782 in Greenville, Pitt County, NC , died 20 May 1840 in Woodbury, Cannon COunty, Tennessee and Clarissa Smith, born 1782 in Suffolk County, VA; died 1856 in WOODBURY, Cannon County, Tennnessee. I know NOTHING else about this family, but thought I would share...been trying to link this branch of James to the Alabama branch of James family who came from TN and NC, but have not found the link...yet.
