Louisa Matilda Jacobs was born in 1833 in Edenton, North Carolina. She was the daughter of slave, author and activist Harriet Jacobs.
There is a good photo of Louisa in J.F. Yellin, 2004, but it seems not to be in PD.
Louisa worked in the Alexandria Contraband Camps with her mother, and taught at Howard University (HU does not yet seem to have space pages nor categories within DC...)
She helped w/her mother's boarding houses at 1409-1413 K st, NW fr 1877-1883, and 1885-1889
