Biography

William Bird Jacobs was born in 1854. His birth was registered in the Thanet District, County Kent, England.^[1] He was the son of Nailor Jacobs and Elizabeth Ann Bird^[2][3]

William arrived in 1869 in the Colony of Victoria, Australia aged 14, having traveled aboard the 'Roslin Castle' with his parents and siblings.^[4]

William married Charlotte Louise Chivers in 1883 in Victoria.^[5] Their children were:

• Henry Wright Jacobs (1886–1924)^[7]
• Reginald Flockhart Jacobs (1888–1968)^[8]
