Born in New Orleans LA in 1940. For many years was a news photographer for local TV station, production technician for TV station, managed a film and video production/ equipment sales, service and rental company, retired from the US Naval Reserve with 22 years of service (11 active duty, 11 reserve duty). Been doing genealogy research on my family tree for @ 30 years, taking over what my father had started in 1973 when he could no longer physically do it. My personal family tree has over 5900 names in it, tracing my immediate and extended family roots and relationships. I generally do research just about every day (I'm retired, so I have a lot of "free' time). I was born in New Orleans LA, was raised in Metairie (a suburb), and since retiring, live in Opelousas LA in the heart of the French Cajun culture. My basic family roots are French, Spanish, Irish. One branch of my family has been in Louisiana since 1718 at the founding of the city of New Orleans. The others are immigrants generally from the 1800s.
My research for sources, people and family history generally come from ancestry.com searches, as well as newspaper.com, findagrave.com, archives.com and other on-line sites.

It has been a couple of weeks since we contacted you about your participation in the Louisiana Families Project and as we haven't heard from you, we are following up to make sure you wish to remain a member.
We understand that interests shift as we grow our shared tree and that some members may have moved on to projects more pertinent to the branches they are currently building. If this is the case for you, please let us know.
If we do not hear back from you within the week, we will assume you have moved on to other things for the moment and remove you from the project. Please know that you will always be welcome to rejoin should your interests shift back in this direction.
Thank you so much for your participation; we genuinely appreciate it.

On behalf of the Louisiana Families Project, we are doing a periodic check-in with members. Please review the project page [1], and if you feel you are able and would like to contribute to the project in the upcoming months, please let me know by commenting on my profile or sending a private message. If you have other obligations or interests at the moment and would like to be removed from the project at this time, you will always be welcome to rejoin if you find yourself with more time and interest later.
All of us at WikiTree would like to thank you for your contributions and hope that you are enjoying exploring your roots.
I look forward to hearing from you soon.

I see that you just did the Pre-1700 Self-Certification. That's great! Also noticed you made 1643 contributions to Wikitree, thank you! Here at WikiTree we like to have our members involved with others; collaboration is key!
Thank you also for joining our Louisiana Families Project! Here is a list of our other WikiTree projects you might like to check out: https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Projects
Why don't you also stop by the One Name Studies project, to see if there's already a name study for (surname) going on? The current leaders for that are Doug Lockwood and Alison Andrus. They would be happy to get you started.

The project account has a handy set of links on it... I use it most to connect to the Google Group. It's also listed in Category:Louisiana Families Project along with other project members who have added the category to their profile (encouraged, but not a requirement).
Please stop by the project page - I've added your name to the members listed there, if you'd like to add to it. If not, you or I can delete it next week or so.
Cheers, Liz
You've probably been hard at work adding family members and getting connected to those that are already here. You should have at least a few profiles that you manage now. You've covered a lot of ground the past few weeks. So, this week we're going to look at how to work with your Watchlist: How to Manage Your Watchlist.
We are also going to give you just a few more tools that can take you even deeper into the WikiTree forest without getting lost: How to Dig a Little Deeper.
As always, your questions are welcome!

You've been here for three weeks now! We hope you're profiles are starting to come together and that you've enjoyed getting to know all of us a little better. You're probably getting a good feel for the collaborative nature of WikiTree by now. We know that collaboration isn't always easy. So, we've put together a few pointers that can make working in this type of environment a little easier: How to be a Successful WikiTreer. As always, your questions are welcome!
