Biography

Lewis was born at home in Hartland, Vermont. His mother was attended by Dr. Gartland. Lewis was the son of Lewis Jackson and Margaret Harrington [1] [2].

He registered for the draft on 16 Oct 1940 while he was single and unemployed. He later enlisted in the US Army during World War II and served from November 25, 1940 to September 25. 1945 [3]. He was assigned to the Quartermaster Corps as a Private [4].

According to a Newburyport, Massachusetts, City Directory, 1959, Lewis worked as a chauffeur for the Diamond Gardner Corporation in Newburyport while he resided in Haverhill with his wife, Valira.

He passed away in 1986 [5]
