Mary E. Jackson married John Angelo in Morgan County, Illinois on January 8, 1849. [1] The Illinois death record for their son George Angelo gives Mary's birth place as "Aberlyn" Tennessee (perhaps this is Oberlin, TN?) [2]
The 1850 U.S. Census for Morgan County, Illinois, lists Mary Angelo, age 16, born in Tennessee in the household of John Angelo.[3] All of the listed children except Mary, age 0, are from John's earlier marriages. Mary probably died in childbirth or soon after -- her son George was born on Jan 25, 1852 [2] and her husband John married again (his fourth wife) on June 19, 1852. [4]

NOTE: THis census index was poorly transcribed -- this name should be Angelow not Angelen; age for John is 50 not 30. Wife Mary is correctly listed at age 16, but the family was split into two households. The rest of this family is indexed under Reuben Angelen, and inlcudes Reuben, age 10, Job, age 8, Jefferson, age 5, Perry age 3, and Mary, age 0.
