Biography

Hannah was born in about 1818.

She married John Henry Powell (marriage record not yet found but her maiden name is confirmed from their children's birth registrations).

In the 1871 census Hannah (age 53) was the wife of John Henry Powell in St John The Evangelist, London, England.^[1]

In the 1881 census Hannah (age 63), Laundress, was the wife of Henry Powell at 25 New St, St John the Evangelist, London, England.^[2]

In the 1891 census Hannah (age 73) was the wife of John H Powell in St John the Evangalist Westminster, London, England.^[3]

In the 1911 census Hannah (age 93), Private Means, was a widowed widow at 14 Osborne Rd, Willesden Green, Cricklewood N W, Willesden, Middlesex, England.^[4]

Research notes

Hannah's birthplace is recorded on most censuses as either Butterwick or Boston, Lincolnshire (Butterwick is a village not far from Boston). However on the 1891 census she is recorded as born at St Ives, Cornwall- most likely this is just an error.
