Biography

William Leslie Jack was raised in Johnstown Center, Wisconsin, and followed the logging industry as a sawyer, eventually coming to Brainerd, MN in 1870. During the 1880's, Jack was a surveyor for the Northern Pacific Railway as it moved through the Dakota Territory and on into Montana. He homesteaded on Crow Wing Lake in the late 1880's.

William married Phoebe Jane Martin on 6/7/1876 in Brainerd, MN.

William and Phoebe had one child, William Leslie Jack, Jr.
