Wa-ya-ba-tos-a was born about 1839. He passed away in 1914.[1]
Isatai'i (Comanche isa 'wolf or coyote' + tai'i 'vagina') or Isatai (c.1840 – 1916) was a Comanche warrior and medicine man of the Kwaharʉ band. Originally named Kwihnai Tosabitʉ (White Eagle), after the debacle at Adobe Walls on June 27, 1874, for which he was blamed, he was known as Isatai'i.
Not much is known about Isatai'i’s youth. He was born a Kwaharʉ Comanche, a few years before Quanah Parker, probably about 1840. As an adult he became a medicine man, not a traditional warrior. He first came into prominence right before the Second Battle of Adobe Walls as he preached a Messianic War against buffalo hunters and other whites he feared were ending the Comanche way of life. Isatai'i's prophecies were based on his claim that he had ascended far above the earth into the clouds and had conversed with the Great Spirit. He claimed the Great Spirit had granted him extraordinary powers. Among these powers were the ability to cure the sick, bring the dead back to life, to control the weather and other natural phenomena, and to make bullets fall to the ground, harming no one.

The commanche medicine man also known as Isa-Tai. He was also known as White Eagle, Wa-ya-ba-tos-a. He was an associate of Chief Quannah Parker.
On the base of his grave marker it reads: Chief Muniekuis dies will go see Eschiti.
A young medicine man named Eschiti led an attack on Adobe Walls, atrading post for Buffalo hunters, in 1864. This attack was a miserable failure. He had told the warriors he had medicine to prevent them from bullets. Several warriors were wounded. Quanah was one of the wounded, while rescuing a fallen comrade, Howeah. Howeah was later recommended to replace Quanah as Chief of Comanches.

The cousin of White Eagle was named Bad Eagle (Quin-ne-kash-su-it) and he died before 1906. Another cousin to both White Eagle and Bad Eagle was Mumsikai. They were all from the Antelope band.
White Eagle organized the very first Comanche Sun Dance, May 1874.
In the spring of 1874, a Comanche medicine-man named Isa-tai, sprang up among the Quahada Comanches. He claimed wonderful and miraculous powers had been given him by the Great Spirit. He convinced the Comanches that now was the time to rise up and fight. He also managed to convince a good many Cheyennes and almost one-half of the Kiowa's to join the Comanches on a raid into Texas to fight the Tonkawa's, avenging an earlier killing of Comanches. However, the raid would not take place as word of the intended attack reached Ft. Griffin and arrangements were made for the Tonkawas to be safely housed at Fort Griffin. Primed for a fight, the Indians were not about to let the removal of the Tonkawas deprive them of a battle. There were more than the Tonkawas deserving of ?revenge.? There were the hide hunters.
