William Irving was born in the Colony of Victoria (1851-1900)
William Robert Irving was born about 1892 in Daylesford, Colony of Victoria.He was the son of William Irving and his wife Ellen Rae.
He served in France in WWI, service number 5034 V26051 He was awarded the Military Medal for bravery in the field as a sniper who took out a machine gun and assisted his comrades to advance.
William married Annie Gertrude Bunn (born about 1896 in Benalla, Victoria; daughter of Myles Bunn and Margaret Jane (Bowman) Bunn). Their son was Robert Myles Irving (1923–2002).
William died on September 9, 1981 in Korumburra, Victoria, Australia, aged about 88.[1]
