Hi,

I have some French Roots I believe father and daughter listed as French Huguenot. When I go back further it seems records split as French and German. Per this I confused if they French Or German this I will have to figure out in research which they leaned more too. But so far I considering them French do to names found. Marguerite Julienne Simon and Jacques Simone but most stuff in Jacob. May need to have help on these lines as far French stuff.

see birthplace as Wargabosen, France - ( but . . . don't find 'Wargabosen, France' (do find Bosen, Germany, in Saar, Saar) (' they came from Hagenau, France which later became Germany' - per Hause site - http://hausegenealogy.com/bright.html)

Hi Billie, if you'd like some help on these lines, please head over to g2g (found under the help tab in the menu) and post a question about the specific profile you need help on. Other members who work on French genealogy will see your post and help if they can. Thanks! Emma
Hi Billie

Could be Walbourg (Haguenau-Wissembourg) which is in close proximity to Haguenau. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Walbourg

Have you got any original writings of that place?

Andre,

I haven’t I just learning about areas. The area seems to be moving back and forth from French to German. Was leaning French because spelling of names found. I will check out your suggestion too.

Billie

French origins from both parents with known ancestors from the 14 and 1500’s.

Yes, I have French Roots, back to the Plantagenets, and Capet Royal Lines, also my family in Alsace-Lorraine, France, Phillippe and Marguerits, and the Trahans and Grosjean families.
