Biography

Cleon was born in 1889 in Nebraska. His parents were William Sherman Iliff (1866-1895) and Ella (Wetmore) Iliff (1864-1944). By 1900, he was living with his widowed mother, Ella, and siblings in Grant Precinct Dawson village, Richardson, Nebraska.[1] They were still there in 1910.[2]

About 1911, Cleon married Flora Bacon.

Cleon registered for the WWI draft in 1917. He was a married farmer with 2 children by that time. He was described as tall, with medium build, gray eyes and brown hair.[3]

By 1930, Cleon and Flora, had a household in Porter, Richardson, Nebraska. They had six children at home, as well as Cleon's mother living with them.[4] The census stated that he and Flora were both 22 at the time of their marriage. Cleon was a farmer. The household included:

Cleon married Esther West in 1946.

Cleon passed away in 1975.[6] Burial was in the Heim Cemetery, Dawson, Richardson County, Nebraska.[7]
