Mary, the daughter of William Hyde and Christina Simpson was born 7 Sep 1797 and baptised 1 Oct 1797 in St. Paul, Charlottetown. [1] She became a teacher in DeSable and married Allan Stewart. They lived in Little York. [2]
St. John's Island Colony was renamed Prince Edward Island Colony in 1798. The colony became a province of Canada on 1 July 1873.
The Church of England has been renamed in Canada, becoming the Anglican Church of Canada.
