Biography

Sarah Ann Hyde was born in 1840 at Bell Barn Road in Birmingham, Warwickshire, England to Richard Hyde and Hannah (Heath) Hyde. Her birth was registered in Birmingham in the last quarter of the year, with mother's maiden name Heath.[1]

In 1841 Sarah Hyde (age 0) lived at Bell Barn Road in St Thomas in the Moors, Birmingham with her father Richard (25-29), mother Hannah (20-24), and brother Richard (2).[2]

In 1851 Sarahit Hyde (age 10, Scholar) lived at Skinner Lane in Birmingham with her father Richard (36, Packer), mother Hannah (34), and five siblings: R J (12, Errand Boy), Joseph (8, Scholar), Henry (5, Scholar), Hannah (2, Scholar), and Harret (0).[3]

Sarah Ann Hyde (age 20, daughter of Richard Hyde) married Charles Idiens (age 24, son of Henry Idiens) on 14 Sep 1861 in Birmingham.[4]

Sarah and Charles had two children:

  1. Charles Richard Angelo Idiens (1862-)
  2. Florence Mary (Idiens) Vaughton (1867-1946)

In 1871 Sarah A Idiêns (age 30) lived in Birmingham with her husband Charles (33, Clerk), son Charles (8, Scholar), and daughter Florence (4, Scholar).[5]

In 1881 Sarah A Idiens (age 40) lived at Summer Hill Terrace in Birmingham with her husband Charles (43, Manufactors Clerk), son Charles R A (18, Litho Artist), and daughter Florence M (14, Scholar).[6]

Sarah's husband Charles Idiens passed away in 1890.

In 1891 Sarah A Idiens (age 50, Stewardess of Club) lived at 1 Hall St in Birmingham with her son Charles R A (28, Lithographic Draughtsman), daughter Florence M (24), and nephew Reuben E Hyde (7, Scholar).[7]

In 1901 Sarah A Idiens (age 60) lived in Handsworth, Staffordshire with her son-in-law Vincent Vaughton (37, Jeweller), daughter Florence M Vaughton (34), two Vaughton granddaughters: Florence M (6) and Dorothy N (1), and servant Ellen Potter (17, House Maid).[8]

In 1911 Sarah Ann Idiens (age 70) was a boarder in Smethwick, Worcestershire in the household of Alfred George Cross.[9]

Sarah A Idiens passed away in 1922, aged 81 years. Her death was registered in Kings Norton, Worcestershire in the second quarter of the year.[10]
