Biography

Oscar James Hunt was born on the 23 January 1884[1][2] at Little Glemham, Suffolk, England[3][4], the son of George Hunt[5][4] and Martha Meadows.

On the 28th November 1907, Oscar married Sarah Ann Smith at St. Martin of Tours, Chipping Ongar, Essex, England. Oscar James Hunt, 23, bachelor, railway lampman, of Chipping Ongar, son of George Hunt (platelayer); and Sarah Ann Smith, 24, spinster, servant of Chipping Ongar, daughter of William Smith (labourer). Witnessed by E. Smith, E. Ling, H. Ling and E. G. Hunt[5]

In 1911 Census James Oscar Hunt (b. 1884 Little Glemham, Suffolk)was living at 13A Robert Street, North Woolwich, London, England with his wife Sarah Ann Hunt (b. 1884 Moreton, Essex) and daughter Lilian Maud Hunt (aged 1 year, no birth place recorded)[3].

in 1921 Oscar James Hunt (b. 1884 Little Glemham, Suffolk) was living at The Street, Little Glemham, Marlesford, Suffolk, England, living at with his parents George Hunt (b. 1853 Little Glemham, Suffolk), Martha Hunt (b. 1858 Lyndford, Norfolk), wife Sarah Ann Hunt (b. 1883 Moreton, Essex) and children Lilian B. M. Hunt (aged aged 12 years, born North Woolwich, London), Gladys Eva Hunt (b. 1913 Leyton, Essex) and Frederick Hunt (b. 1916 Leyton, Essex).[4]

In 1939 Oscar J. Hunt (b. 23rd January 1884) was living with his wife Sarah A. Hunt (b. 24th August 1883), and children Lilian B. M. Hunt (b. 21st May 1909, surnamed amended to Miller), Gladys E Hunt (b. 21st May 1913 amended to 26th May 1913) and Frederick J. Hunt (b. 25 Dec 1915) at 2 Grange Road, Leyton, Essex, England[2].

In 1946, Oscar was living at 2 Grange Road, Leyton, Essex, England[6].

Oscar died on the 28th January 1946 at Bethnal Green Hospital, Bethnal Green, London, England[6].[7]

Administration of Oscar's estate was granted on the 28th March 1946 to Sarah Ann Hunt (widow). Effects: £320 4s. 4d.[6]
