Atlee Arthur Hunt CMG was born in 1864.[1] Worked as a barrister.
He was the first Secretary of the Department of External Affairs in the government of the new Commonwealth of Australia in 1901, and continued in its successor as Secretary of the Department of Home and Territories from 1916 until his retirement in 1921.
He was appointed a Companion of the Order of St Michael and St George on 24 June 1910 "For service as Secretary of the Department of External Affairs".[2]
He passed away in 1935.[1]
