When Joan Dolores HUNT was born on 10 Mar 1935, in York, Pennsylvania, her father, Cletus Hunt Catherine Simon, was 23, and her mother, Catherine Simon, was 21. She married Louis Salvatore on 13 Feb 1954, in her hometown. They had five children in 11 years. She died on 4 Nov 2015, in York, Pennsylvania, at the age of 80, and was buried in Violet Hill, Pennsylvania. ^[1]

Joan D. Salvatore YORK Joan D. (Hunt) Salvatore, wife of Louis C. Salvatore (1935-2004) for 50 years, passed into eternal life on Wednesday, November 4, 2015. Born on March 10, 1935, to Catherine (Simon) Hunt and Cletus A. Hunt, Sr. in York, she was the second of 10 children, a lifetime member of St. Mary's Church and Altar Rosary Society, and a 10 year member of the Girl Scouts of America, having served for several years as a Brownie leader at St. Joseph's Church in York. Joan retired from American Business Printing (formerly US Business Printing) after 13 years of service and went on to volunteer at the St. Mary's Thrift Shop for many years. She is survived by her five children, Denise Gruver, wife of George, Louann Halpin, wife of Greg, Emily Harte, Julie Armstrong, wife of Steve, and Timothy Salvatore; her six grandchildren, Suzy, Jake, Charly, Trish, Chloe, and Jon; and four great-grandchildren, Kaitie, Will, Ty, and Levi. She was preceded in death by her older sister, Mary; and her three younger brothers, Joseph, James, and Thomas. She is also survived by her brothers, Cletus Hunt, Jr. and John Hunt; her sisters, Kathy Swaika, Margaret Ziegler, and Bobbie Duffey; and many nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, November 24, 2015, at 11:30 a.m. at St. Mary's Church, 309 S. George St., York 17401 with the Very Rev. Jonathan Sawicki, V.F.officiating. Joan will be interred next to her husband at St. Mary's Cemetery in a private burial. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society, 924-N Colonial Ave., York, PA 17403; or to the Hospice & Community Care, 224 St. Charles Way, York, PA 17402 to provide compassionate end-of-life care in our community.
