Biography

Mary Hunnewell was born about 1811 (per the 1850 and 1870 censuses), or 1812 (per the 1860 census) to 1815 (per her online memorial site).

She was betrothed 12 September 1846 at Scarborough, Maine, to marry John Pride ^[1],^[2] (1793 - 1864 ^[3]). They did marry on 9 October 1846 ^[4],^[5]. Five children are documented from this union:

1. Sarah Caroline Pride (1849 - 21 Jun 1929); married Jeremiah Staples
2. John M. Pride (Aug 1849 - 26 Jan 1918); married Susan Frances Hamden
3. Willard A. Pride (1852 - 1938); married Ann Barrett
4. William E. Pride (1852 - 14 Feb 1913)
5. Harried Eliza Pride (Mar 1857 - 1936); married Charles W. Caswell

Mary (Hunnewell) Pride passed away in Cumberland County, Maine, in 1875. Her grave is in Saccarappa Cemetery, Westbrook, Cumberland County, Maine, USA ^[9].

Notes

Sons William and Willard probably were twins, both born 1852, appearing in 1860 census as Alma and Alnion, both age 8 ^[10]. Impossible to tell which was which in later life without deeper investigative sourcing than what appears in F-A-G or FSearch.
