Biography

Benjamin Hunnewell was born at Scarborough, Maine, 4 May 1746, the son of Josiah Hunnewell and Rebecca Brown; died at Danville, Maine (now part of Auburn), 13 Jun 1835; married, probably at Scarboro, 11 Nov 1773, Phebe Larrabee. ^[1]

In Scarborough in 1790, ^[2] and in 1810, when he was enumerated next door to his sister and brother-in-law, Nathaniel and Sarah (Hunnewell) Larrabee. ^[3]

HUNNEWELL, BENJAMIN. Private, Capt. David Strout's co.; enlisted July 21, 1774; service to Dec. 31, 1775, 5 mos. 23 days; company stationed on seacoast in Cape Elizabeth and Scarborough.^[4]
