Biography

George was born in 1867, the son of John Humphrey (1839-1911) and the English-born Sophia (Unknown) Humphrey (1835-).

In 1880^[1] his is living with his parents John and Sophia in Baltimore, Maryland.

Around 1896, he married Ida Ann (Widerman) Humphrey (1877-1919), and by 1900^[2] he and his young wife moved to Howard, Maryland with their first 3 children, Florence, Edna May, and Lillian.

In 1910,^[3] they were still living in Howard, Maryland. By this time, Ida had given birth to seven children,^[3] with six still surviving,^[3] namely: Florence, Edna, Lillian, George, Pearl, and Francis. Also living with the family in 1910 were Bertie Kennedy, an 18 year old female servant^[3] and Earnest Cavey, a 24 year old male hired man.^[3]

George passed away in January 1945.^[4]
