Biography

Andrew Jackson Hughes was born on October 9, 1793 in Orange, North Carolina, United States, son of John William Hobson Hughes (1755–1836).

Andrew married Sarah Hill (born on April 30, 1791 in Alamance, North Carolina).[1] [2] [3] [4] Two of their many children were:

In 1850, Andrew (56) was living in Alamance with his wife, Sarah (60); their children, Andy (14); and Thos Hughes (30). [5]

In 1860, Andrew (66) was living in Murphey District, Cherokee with family. [6]

In 1870, Andrew (76) was living in Notla Township, Cherokee, North Carolina. [7]

Andrew died on December 9, 1870 in Cherokee, aged 77.[8] [9]
