Biography

Robert Hudson was born in ireland. [citation needed]

He married Eliza McCadden who was also from Ireland. Unsourced tree says they married 5 Nov 1844 in Canada. [citation needed] Their first two children were born in Canada. [1]

They emigrated from Ireland and resided a few years in Canada where two fo their children were born. They came to the United States and settled in Brandon, Vermont about 1850. They 1850 Census for Brandon, Vermont -- Household of Robert and Eliza Hudson [1]

Robert and Eliza had eight children, six of whom survived to adulthood. They are Robert, Edward, James, Eliza, Mary and Nellie. Note: It's possible they had children before leaving Ireland.

Robert enlisted in the Fifth Vermont Regiment in 1861 and was killed in the Battle of the Wilderness and "buried on the field". [2]
