Biography
Carl Hubbell is Notable.
Carl Hubbell pitched for the New York Giants from 1928 to 1943, was voted National League Most Valuable Player in 1933 and 1936, and was elected to the Major League Baseball Hall of Fame in 1947.

- He is perhaps best remembered for his performance in the 1934 All-Star Game, when he struck out five future Hall of Famers – Babe Ruth, Lou Gehrig, Jimmie Foxx, Al Simmons and Joe Cronin – in succession. Hubbell's primary pitch was the screwball.
- Hubbell was married to Lucille "Sue" Harrington (1905–1967) from 1930 until her death. They had two children: Carl Jr. (born 1936) and James.
