Snorre Sturlason skriver i Harald Hårfagres saga i Heimskringla:
Ragnhild (Hild) Hrofsdottir, daughter of Hrolf Nefja married Rognvald Eysteinsson, Jarl of Møre. Their sons were Rolf and Tore. [1][2]
Medieval lands does not mention a wife for Rognvald. [3]
The Orkneyinga Saga records that “Earl Rognwald” married "Ragnhild the daughter of Hrolf Nose". Snorri Sturluson, in his work Harald Harfager's Saga suggests "Hild, a daughter of Rolf Nefia" as the wife of "Earl Ragnvald". [4]
It is possible that there were two women represented. The Harfager's Saga suggests that they had two sons: Rolf and Thorer, but the Saga continues that "Ragnvald had also three sons by concubines, -- the one called Hallad, the second Einar, the third Hrollaug; and all three were grown men when their brothers born in marriage were still children". This listing does not include Ivar, killed during the invasion of the Isles in 874.
