Please pay no regard to the tags I am following or those I am most active in (see the box below): those surnames do not accurately reflect my interests. Really, I am interested in my relatives, and their relatives, and their relatives, and so on, particularly the most interesting people this includes.
I had a personal family history web site, which can still be accessed via the wayback machine (see below for instructions). I am gradually putting the material into WikiTree.
My full name is Robert Brian Howlett.
I was born on 21 August 1949 in Jamestown South Australia, the youngest of the four children in our family.
My parents were school teachers employed by the South Australian Education Department. We lived in various country towns in the state: Jamestown, Mount Barker, Booleroo Centre, Riverton, Victor Harbor and then Mount Barker again.
I left South Australia for Sydney (New South Wales) in 1977, lived in Perth (Western Australia) in 1979, Canberra (Australian Capital Territory) from 1981 to 1984, but with the year 1982 spent in England, where we lived at Royal Leamington Spa in Warwickshire. Since 1985 I have lived in Sydney.
My personal family history website has died, since in July 2023 our internet service provider ceased providing their customers with free web space. But it has been indexed by the wayback machine; so you can still see it. Just enter
users.tpg.com.au/havik/genealogy/
after the http:// in the wayback machine's search box, and then click 10 July 2023 in the calendar.
