Biography
Birth
Dilmond Howes was born in Ireland around 1828. [1] He was the son of Florance Howes and Jane Bellamy.[2]
Emigration
He emigrated to Australia. [citation needed]
Marriage
Dilmond married Elizabeth Singleton in Melbourne, Victoria in 1854. [3]
They lived at Belfast (now Port Fairy)[4] on the south-west Victorian coast where Dilmond was employed as an engineer. They had two children, Elizabeth Mary and Robert Henry, before Elizabeth's death in 1860.
Marriage
He married for the second time to Mary Quinn Singleton [5] Mary was the nicece of his first wife, and together they had thirteen children.
Death
Dilmond died at Northcote in 1901 at the age of 72.[2]
