"Charles and Maria Levan by Sheriff as Trustee to A.J. Emmitt.
Entered July 24, 1895.
Michael Breckbill High Sheriff of Montour Co.states that by a certain writ of breve de partitione facienda (what in the world is that????) issued out of the Court of Common Pleas of Montour County, tested at Danville on 14 May 1894, and directed to C.P. Harder the then Sheriff of Montour County at the suit of FLORA M. McDOWELL and H.C. McDowell her husband; JOHN F. HOUSEL; HATTIE E. CHRISMAN and P. Chrisman her husband, in order to have interalia, the two messuages, tenements and tracts of land adjoining each other and hereinafter particluarly described and granted parted and divided amongst them the said FLORA M. MCDOWELL and W.C. McDowell her husband, JOHN F. HOUSEL; HATTIE E. CHRISMAN and P. Chrisman, her husband; and DANIEL LEVAN; MARGARET CRAIG and Oscar Craig her husband, SUSAN MOURY and MAURICE (MORGAN) MOURY her husband, JOHN D. LEVAN, CHARLES D. LEVAN and JAMES LEVAN. It goes on to describe a tract of land in Limestone Township adjacent to the lands of Peter Rhone, John Watson, Oscar Craig, Charles Wagner and Henry Follmer's Estate containing 76 acres and 47 perches. Also another parcel containing 7 acres and 22 perches.
The Sheriff states he had gone with six honest and lawful men who agreed that the lands could not be divided without any prejudice to spoiling the whole and they therefore valued the land at $5423.36. Apparently, the group declined the sale at the appraised vailue and it was ordered to be sold at public vendue. A.J. Emmitt bought it for $3879.55."

So... perhaps doubtful that she was the wife of Peter Chrisman. Looks like there is a Peter and Henrietta Chrisman buried in Ottawa County, KS. And there is a P. Chrisman husband of Henrietta "Howell" who are the parents of a Lulu Chrisman married in western Iowa, she apparently a child of 'Black' parents (a designation that I've seen improperly assigned many times before in a Scotch/Irish based family).
