Virgil Hough was born on October 23, 1902 in Elkhart, Indiana, United States, son of Thomas Hough (1873–1952) and Eva Adella Truex (1874–1918).^[1]

In 1910, Virgil was living in the household of his parents Thomas Hough and Eva A Hough in Elkhart Ward 3, Elkhart, Indiana.^[2]

On 31 July 1926, Virgil married Maude Pearl Revert (born on July 3, 1903 in Kansas, United States; daughter of William Perry Revert and Jessie Clyde (Lucas) Revert) in Denver, Colorado. Their son was Robert Virgil Hough (1927–2016).

Virgil died on October 2, 1982 in Nevada, Vernon, Missouri, United States, aged 79. He was buried in Moore Cemetery, Nevada, Vernon County, Missouri.^[1]
