Biography
William Hosokawa is Notable.
William Kunpei Hosokawa was born in Seattle, Washington, on 30 January 1915, the son of Japanese immigrants Setsugo Hosokawa and Kimiyo Omura. A Nisei, his Japanese name was Hosokawa Kunpei (細川 勲平). He graduated from Garfield High School in Seattle. He attended the University of Washington, from which he received a bachelor's degree in journalism in 1937.
Bill married Alice Miyake and moved to Asia where he worked for an English-language newspaper in Singapore. He later worked for a magazine in Shanghai, China. Fourteen months after his son was born, Bill moved back to Seattle.

They were later moved to the Heart Mountain War Relocation Center in Wyoming, where Bill was appointed as editor of The Heart Mountain Sentinel. He and his family were finally released in 1943, but his experiences with incarceration stayed with him for the rest of his life.
After his release, Bill worked as a copy editor for The Des Moines Register. After World War II ended, he served as a war correspondent for The Denver Post during the Korean War and the Vietnam War. He left The Denver Post in 1984 to work for the Rocky Mountain News for eight years until retiring in 1992. He received several honors for his efforts in journalism.
