Biography
Sarah Ann Horton (married name Allen) was born around 1830, the daughter of Elizabeth and George Horton.
She was married to George Allen on 29 February 1848 in Astwood, Buckinghamshire, England[1].
1851, 20 year old, Sarah ALLEN was living in Astwood, Buckinghamshire, England with her husband, George (30) and their daughter, Salomi (2)

The ship, Lady Kennaway set sail from London and Southampton, England on 10 May 1853 with 2 ALLEN families among the assisted immigrant passengers and arrived in Port Phillip Bay, Colony of Victoria on 15 August 1853[3][4]. Brothers, George and William ALLEN and their families from Buckinghamshire consisted of: George (age 33, Agr. Labourer) wife, Sarah (22) and their children, Salome (4), John (2) and a daughter born on board (Mary Kennaway); and William (43, Agr. Labourer), wife Susan (35) and their children, Lucy (18), Sarah (12), Mary (7), Eliza (3) and infant, William. On arrival the 2 brothers and their families went to work for J. G. WARE in Timboon, Colony of Victoria for 6 months.
Sarah died on 22 April 1915 in South Geelong, Victoria, Australia, aged 85 years[6] and was buried at the Barrabool Hills Cemetery, Highton, Greater Geelong City, Victoria, Australia[7].
ALLEN.—On the 22nd inst., at the residence of her son (Mr. George Allen), 34 Park Crescent, South Geelong, Sarah Ann, relict of the late George Allen, of Highton, and loving mother of John, G.S., Jesse Thomas, George Arthur, and Mrs. Wilmot (Melbourne), Mrs. Seal (Highton), Mrs. Kirwood and Mrs. Dixon (North Geelong), aged 85 years.
The funeral will leave her son's (Mr. George Allen) residence, Park Crescent, South Geelong, on Saturday, the 24th inst., at 2.30 p.m., for the Highton Cemetery. Friends please accept this intimation.
