Biography
Mary Horsley was born in 1819 on the coast of East Yorkshire in Aldbrough. [1] She is the daughter of Michael Horsley and Mary Hopper.
Her Children
She seems fairly certain to be the mother of Eliza Horsley an illegitimate child baptised in Nafferton 1841 because Eliza is found with Mary's widowed mother, Mary (Hopper) Horsley at the census of 1851 [2]
This in turn leads us to believe that she is the most likely mother for George Hodgson Horsley, born in Nafferton but baptised in nearby Lowthorpe in 1848. [3]
Not Married
A strenuous search fins no evidence that she ever marries any Hodgson, Hodson or Hudson, : see also the notes on George Hodgson Horsley. Probably she never married at all.
