It’s Germany Project check-in time again! Please respond within the next 2 weeks and let me know if you’re still interested in participating with the Project. Remember, the only requirements for membership in the Germany Project are (1) that you work on at least one German profile every 6 months and (2) that you respond to this check-in.
Please respond to this message by posting a reply below or sending me a private message on WikiTree. In your response, we welcome any feedback you may want to give on the project (what you like about it, what you’d like to see us do, what we could change, etc.)
If you ever have any questions, please ask. I look forward to hearing from you soon!
I'm a member of the South African Roots Project and I just wanted to stop by and say hello. I'm always so excited to meet another South African researcher!
Perhaps you would like to join the South African Roots Project? Besides links to sources, there are help pages that might also be useful. Philip has already posted some great links below. Perhaps you might find this one as handy as I do: South African Quick Links (my new favourite page for helping find baptisms).
If you have any questions about how WikiTree works, let me know. To contact me, please log in to WikiTree and go to your profile. Use the ‘Reply’ link below my comment to be sure I will be notified. You can also click my name to send a private message, or post a comment, on my profile page. I am happy to help!
When you have a chance, please submit a join request to our Google Group (https://groups.google.com/g/wikitreegermanroots), where our project communicates. **Please make sure to add your name and WikiTree ID** to the request so we can get you set up.
I have added you to the project's Prussia Team. The Germany Project has several other teams that cover regional, functional, historical and migrational interests. Please check them out and let me know if there are any other teams you'd like to join.
We look forward to working with you! Please feel free to contact me with any questions. Thanks!
Thanks for email. Must admit I do not find Wiki as easy to add to as My Heritage. I had a huge problem adding my grandfather Ernst Max Hoppe. Wiki kept telling me he was already on the system, he was too old, he was living - drove me crazy quite frankly.
This is a courtesy e-mail to see how things are going. Are you enjoying WikiTree so far?
Have the tips in the New Member How-Tos been helpful? Most of us still have some questions after reviewing them, so don't hesitate to let me know.
I'm here to help with issues and questions about how WikiTree works. You can reply to this comment, or send me a private message.

P.S. If links do not work in an email from WikiTree, try them from the comment section on your profile page.
P.P.S. Did you discover that you can set up tags on your profile which become clickable links to a page of other people who have that tag? You might want to try setting some up.
P.P.P.S. If you need help in learning how to do good source references, I would be happy to advise.
Thanks for signing the Honor Code, Charlette, I hope you discover as much about your family as I have about mine over the last several years.
Check out the New Member How To Pages for some quick tips on working with both the Wiki pages and our other members. There is some great information in those pages.
If you have questions about how WikiTree works, let me know and I will find answers. Just click my name, then ask in the comment section of my page.

Thanks Philip for your reply. I am a subscriber to My Heritage and have been a member for over 10 years so am very involved there. I dabble in Geni but don't really do much, other than passing on information and sometimes spotting errors and passing on the information I have uncovered. If I come across relevant and helpful information I am happy to share and pass it on to someone in Wiki. I am most keen on finding original sources and spend hours trawling. Regards
Hi Charlette, is see that you have had guest status since 2016. A warm belated welcome to WikiTree. Thanks for helping to source Van_der_Merwe-3413 and Botes-353. Here follows a general introduction: Many / most of the South African genealogical lines and profiles of the eigtheenth and seventeenth periods (and earlier) have already been made. Many have also been validated with primary sources.
