John Hood was born 1713 in "Hood's Haven, " Anne Arundel Co, Maryland; died 1786 in St. Anne's Parish, Anne Arundel Co, MD. He was the son of Benjamin Hood. [1][2]

John Hood enlisted in the 3rd Maryland Regiment in 1786

His will, written at about the same time as his father's , was written 1785, proved 1786. It mentions 5 grandsons and 2 granddaughters via son John, Jr. [1] [2]
