Kenneth Hood July 02, 2012 Kenneth D. Hood passed away from cancer on June 21, 2012, at his home in Parkdale, Ore., surrounded by family. He was born March 25, 1941, in Hood River, Ore., to Frank M. and Elizabeth (Deming) Hood. After graduating from Wy'east High School in 1959, he served in the Air Force Strategic Air Command from 1960 to 1964. In 1969 he married Elizabeth Croxson in Neenah, Wis. They lived in San Francisco before moving to Edmonds, Wash., where they lived for 34 years and raised their three daughters. Ken worked in aviation with TWA, Boeing and Collins Aviation. He also worked in wholesale for Seattle Lighting and Kelly Goodwin. Ken adored spending time with his grandkids and family; attending sports games, music recitals and holiday gatherings. He had a soft spot for animals and children. He loved woodworking, hot rod cars and taking in a Mariners game with all the family in tow. Mount Hood was a special place for him, which he shared on hikes, sledding and in photography with family and friends. He will be greatly missed. He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Elizabeth; daughters Tina Hippner-Page (Jamie), Ann Faris (Lee) and Carolyn Heiner (Charlie); grandchildren Nicholas, Anna, Matthew, Taylor, Henry and Adeline; sister Judy Hood Erickson (Ivan); niece Linnea Huson (Eric) and nephews Kirk Erickson (Maryam) and Jon Erickson (Esther). He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Elizabeth Hood. A memorial service for Ken will be held at Parkdale Community Church. Memorial contributions may be made in his honor to Celilo Cancer Center or Hearts of Gold Caregivers.
