Biography

Thomas Honeyman was born in the Colony of New South Wales (1788-1900)

Thomas was born in 1862.[1] He passed away in 1928.[2] He is buried in the Bodangora General Cemetery, Bodangora, Dubbo Regional Council, New South Wales.[3]

In 1891, Thomas married Rose Amelia Scherer/Schever/Schwer.[4]

On Thomas' passing the following report on his death was published.

THOMAS HONEYMAN.
The death took place in the Wellington Hospital yesterday, of a very well known and highly respected resident of Bodangora, in the person of Mr. Thomas Honeyman, at the age of 66 years. The deceased, who was a native of Bathurst, came to Bodangora about 18 years ago, where he followed the occupation of farm labourer, and where he was held in great esteem by all in the Wellington district. He had been ailing for some time, and about a month ago he was admitted to the Wellington Hospital, and though an operation was performed, he did not seem to improve, and gradually passed away.
He is survived by a wife and family of two sons and one daughter, the former being Messrs Albert and Cecil, of Bodangora, and Miss Ivy Honeyman, of Bodangora. Two brothers and two sisters are residents of Bathurst. The remains were encased in a polished maple casket, silver mounted, and laid to rest beside those of his late daughter, in the Church of England portion of the Wellington cemetery, the services at the graveside being read by Mr. F. S. Lovett. Mr. C. J. Shakespeare had charge of the funeral arrangements. [5]

He was paid the following tribute.

Printed in the Passed out years too soon.
Thomas Honeyman, a man for whom I had the greatest respect. A sterling working man, who made the interests of his employer his own. He scorned to lose one minute of the time he was paid for. Such men are now disappearing from the ranks of the working men. The large attendance at his funeral was ample proof of the respect in which he was held.[6]
