Biography

Claudean Charlotte Gardner Home was born on 2 May 1834 and was baptised on 18 May 1834 at Dunbar, East Lothian, Scotland^[1]. She was the daughter of George Home and Margaret Millighan.

In the 1841 Scotland Census Claudean Haner [sic] (aged 6) was living with her father George (35 and a Candle Maker), her mother Margarete (35) and her two siblings Anthony (10) and George (4) at St Andrews Wynd, South Leith, Midlothian.

Her father died some time before 1851.

In the 1851 Scotland Census Claudean Hume (aged 16 and a servant) was recorded living in Giles Street, South Leith, Midlothian with her mother Margaret (aged 50 and an Annuitant) and her brother George Hume (14 and a Sailor Apprentice).

Claudean married James Henderson on 14 September 1855 at Leith, Midlothian, Scotland. They had at least ten children:

6. Georgina Home Henderson (b. 1865, m. 1895 Robert Thompson)
7. Charlotte Home Henderson (bapt. 29 Sep 1867, m. 1889 John Ramsay, d. 1935)
8. James Henderson (b. 5 Jan 1869)
9. Douglas Home Henderson (b. 1871, d. 1924)
10. William Alexander Millbank Henderson (bapt. 11 Jul 1875, d. 1934)

She and her husband lived with their children at 32 Upper Manor Street, St Luke Chelsea, Chelsea, London & Middlesex, England. Her husband was an Iron Moulder.

Claudean passed away on 10 March 1897^[2] and was buried on 15 March 1897 at Fulham Cemetery, London. Plot: Sec 9a, Row I., No 98
