Amy was born 19 December 1801 in South Carolina, probably in Spartanburg County, to Silas Holloway and Abigail Moseley. She married John Houston Wood in 1817, probably in South Carolina, before the couple started making their way west. She passed away 30 January 1857 in Pontotoc County, Mississippi.

When her father Silas Holloway died in 1846, she was specifically left no more, having already receiving a sum equal to what he left the rest of his children in his will. The will confirms her married name to be Amy Wood. A copy of the will is attached to this profile.
