Biography

Mary was a Civil War Nurse.

Mary was born in 1823.

She was a nurse during the US Civil War. After the war, Mary compiled and edited "Our Army Nurses", a book about the experiences of many women who served as nurses during the war. The book consists of letters written by the nurses about their experiences.

In her narrative, she mentions seeing to her nephew, William K. Nason of Maine, the son of Mary's sister, Sarah June (Holland) Nason. Miss Holland writes about working in Columbia College Hospital, Seminary Hospital, and Lincoln Barracks Hospital in the Washington, D.
