The last will and testament of JACOB HINTON of the state and county aforesaid
I JACOB HINTON considering the uncertainty of this mortal life and being of sound mind and memory, before the Almighty God for the same do make and publish this my last will and testament in manner and form following that is to say.
First I give and bequeath unto my beloved wife MARY HINTON three negroes (viz) Harry, Aggy and Molly during her natural life and at her death I will that they be sold and the money equally divided amonst all my heirs.
Item 2nd I give and bequeath unto my son-in-law HENRY POPE (abt.1792-abt.1846) one negro woman (Charrity) as his full share of my estate.
Item 3rd I give and bequeath unto my daughter SARAH HILL one Negro boy named Willis as her full share of my estate.
Item 4th I give and bequeath to HARRIET MCREE one negro girl named Gracy as her full share of my estate.
Item 5th I give and bequeath to my daughter ORRIE TUGGLE one negro girl named Maron as her full share of my estate.
Item 6th I give and bequeath to my son BRADFORD HINTON three hundred dollars more than his equal share with the of my heirs at the death of my wife.
Item 7th I give and bequeath to my son LOVETT HINTON one negro boy named Green.
Item 8th I give and bequeath to my daughter MARTHA LOVEJOY and to the heirs of her body one negro girl named Christian.
Item 9th I give and bequeath to my daughter HENRYETTA HERD one negro girl named Molly.
Item 10th I give and bequeath to my daughter PENINA MOSELY one negro woman named Demers.
Item 11th I give and bequeath to my son WILLIAM HINTON one negro girl named Sally and six hundred and seventy five Dollars.
Item 12th I give and bequeath to my son WYLEY HINTON nine hundred and twenty five Dollars.
And lastly as to all the rest residue and remainder of my personal Estate good and Chattles of what kind and nature soever I give and bequeath the same to my beloved wife MARY HINTON.
And further I hereby appoint my son BRADFORD HINTON and Elijah Mosley Executors of this my last will and testament in witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this 22nd day of SEPTEMBER 1835.
Before us Edmund B Thompson and Parker M Rise Justices of the inferior court of said County Thomas McCoy Wiley Bradford & Joseph Camp who duly sworn saith on oath that they have JACOB HINTON subscribe to the written will and that he was at that time of sound mind to the best of their knowledge and belief
