Biography

US Black Heritage Project
David Hinton is a part of US Black heritage.

David was born in 1924 in Englewood, New Jersey. He was the son of Oris Hinton and Pearl Powell.

David enlisted in the Army Air Corps Aviation Cadet Program in 1944 and trained and served from 1944 to 1946.

David graduated from Howard University with a Bachelor's Degree in electrical engineering. He worked on the radio systems for the Gemini and Apollo projects. In 1970 he started United Microfilm and Microfiche, Inc. in New Jersey.

David married Kathryn Antoinette Ward in 1948. David and Kathryn had two children, Beverly and James. Kathryn died in 2008.

David participated in the U.S. Veterans History Project. His recording is available online.[1]

He passed away in 2016. David is interred at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville, Pennsylvania.
