Biography
John was born in 1861. John Hinrichs ... [1]
The 1905 New York State Census of the Second Election District of Halfmoon, Saratoga County, New York, Page 5, shows that John was a farmer. His sons, John F. Jr. and Bernard were both working on the farm. The three youngest daughters were in school and the oldest was helping her mother with housework. It was also stated that John F. Sr. and his wife and oldest son had been in the US for 20 years, placing their entry into the country at about 1885. This would coincide with the fact that John Jr. was born in Germany in 1884; but, all other living children were born in New York.
The year of entry into the country was given in the 1910 US Census of Halfmoon, Saratoga County, New York as "1889"; but this would not fit with Bernard being born in New York in 1888, so this may actually be the year of naturalization, rather than immigration. This is the last census in which John and his wife, Mary, appear.
John was recorded in the 1940 US Census of Halfmoon, Saratoga County, New York on page 10A. He was a widower and he owned the property where he was living, which was worth $2,000.00.
John and his wife are buried in Clifton Park Village Cemetery, Saratoga County, New York
