Elizabeth HINDS (HYNDS) was born about 1845 in County Down Ireland. She was the daughter of Richard Hinds (Hynds), a farmer.
On the 8 March 1865, Edward Wilson married Elizabeth Hynds in the First Presbyterian Church of Dromore in the Parish of Dromore in County Down. Edward was listed as a 19-year-old grocer residing in Ballygunaghan. Elizabeth was listed as a 20-year-old spinster. Edward's father was listed as Reid Wilson, a farmer. Elizabeth's father was listed as Richard Hynds, a farmer. Their witnesses were James Brown and Susannah Cloughley [1][2]
Elizabeth's husband died in 1878.
The 1901 Ireland Census finds Elizabeth living at 40 Eblana Street in Belfast. Three of her unmarried adult children and one grandson are living with her (Edward, Lillie, Richard and granddaughter Florrie). Elizabeth is the head of the household. She is listed as a widow, born in Dromore, County Down. Her religious denomination is listed as Methodist. [3]

The widowed Elizabeth Wilson ran a poultry farm, and she was known to travel by horse and trap in later life to Drumaghadone townland near Dromore to collect chickens for the kitchen. Her family, the Hynds, lived in Skillyscolbane, the townland next to Drumaghadone, and her brother and sister were still living there in later life.
In 1901 census she is living at 40 Eblana Sreet, Belfast with her 3 children, Edward 28, Lillie 24, Richard 23 and her grand-daughter Florrie Corry(Currie) aged 5.
