Biography

Elizabeth HINDS (HYNDS) was born about 1845 in County Down Ireland. She was the daughter of Richard Hinds (Hynds), a farmer.

On the 8 March 1865, Edward Wilson married Elizabeth Hynds in the First Presbyterian Church of Dromore in the Parish of Dromore in County Down. Edward was listed as a 19-year-old grocer residing in Ballygunaghan. Elizabeth was listed as a 20-year-old spinster. Edward's father was listed as Reid Wilson, a farmer. Elizabeth's father was listed as Richard Hynds, a farmer. Their witnesses were James Brown and Susannah Cloughley ^{[1] [2]}

Elizabeth's husband died in 1878.

The 1901 Ireland Census finds Elizabeth living at 40 Eblana Street in Belfast. Three of her unmarried adult children and one grandson are living with her (Edward, Lillie, Richard and granddaughter Florrie). Elizabeth is the head of the household. She is listed as a widow, born in Dromore, County Down. Her religious denomination is listed as Methodist. ^[3]
