Biography

Isaac was born in Marblehead 2 Jan 1783. He was baptized 18 Apr 1783 in Newburyport, Essex, Massachusetts.^[1]

Upon the death of his father, in 1790, he removed to Barnstable, where he married in 1805 Hannah Sturgis, daughter of William and Hannah (Mills) Sturgis. He died at sea, 13 March, 1818.^[2]

When he first came to Hingham (1810) he resided in the house now owned and occupied by heirs of George Bassett, on Main, corner of Elm Street; but in Apr. 1811 he removed into the new house erected for him, which is now owned and occupied by Joseph B. Thaxter, on Main Street in Hingham.^[2]
