Emanuel Ellsworth Hilt 1910-1977 "The Janesville Daily Gazette", Janesville, Wisconsin, Tuesday, Jan. 4, 1977. Emanuel E. Hilt, 68, of 1620 Myra Ave., was dead on arrival at Mercy Hospital Monday after an apparent heart attack at his home. He was born March 23, 1910, in Janesville, and was married to Marie Dineen July 3, 1931, in Crown Point, Ind. Mr. Hilt was employed 18 years at the Janesville General Motors plant and then for several years at Libby's until retiring in 1973. He also was a bartender at Hilt's Bar and Sig's Bar, and a member of Trinity Episcopal Church and Bartenders Union Local 444. Surviving are his wife; five sons, Frank, Richard, Charles, William and Thomas, all of Janesville; three daughters, Mrs. Mary Severance and Mrs. Bonnie Fredendall, both of Janesville, and Mrs. Larry (Frances) Tainter, West Bend; 27 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; a brother, John, Janesville, and a sister, Mrs. Margaret Gamper, Glenview, Ill. Services are at 11 a.m. Thursday in Overton Funeral Home with visitation from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday.
