Mrs. Michael Carney passed away at her home on East Fourth Street, in this city, at 8:45 o’clock, Thursday evening. She was born in Carlow, Ireland on January 1st, 1813. She came to the United States when twenty years of age, and in 1836 was married to Michael Carney. Eight children were born to this union, six of who are still living. Mrs. Carney’s husband preceded her to the grave in 1894. The surviving children are Margaret, Thomas, William, and Nicholas of this city; James, of Bellaire OH., and Matthew of Hill City, KS. Twenty-eight grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren also survive. The funeral services will be held at St. Mary’s church at two o’clock, Saturday afternoon. The burial will take place at Pleasant Valley Cemetery
