Ellen (Hill) Bradberry was born in West End, Yorkshire, England.

Ellen was born about 1765 in West End^[1], Yorkshire and was baptised at St Michael and St Lawrence church in Fewston, Yorkshire, on 20 September 1765^[1]. She was the daughter of Mary (Swires) and William Hill (1725 - 1784)^[1].

She married William Bradbury/Bradberry (a tailor) on 13 May 1792 at St Thomas a Beckett church in Hampsthwaite^[2]. They had at least five children: Mary (1795 - 1801), John (1798 - 1854), William (1802 - 1868), Amos (1805 - 1870) and Nathan (1809 - 1881). The baptisms of her later children indicate that the family was living at Woodmanwray, a small hamlet near Dacre, Yorkshire.

She died, aged 71^[3], in 1837 and was buried on 18 February 1837^[3] at Pateley Bridge^[3], Yorkshire. At the time of her death Ellen was described as living at "Hight." When William died in 1843 he was described as living at "Dacre Pasture." Both are in the broad area near Woodmanwray, Dacre.
