Biography

Esther Marjorie Hill was born 29 May 1895, the daughter of Ethelbert Lincoln Hill and Jane Stork of Guelph, Ontario^{[1][2] [3]}

Education and Career ^{[4] [5]}

• She was the first woman to be admitted to the program in architecture at the University of Alberta in 1916
• In 1920, she receiving a BSc in Architecture from the University of Toronto, the first woman graduate in architecture in Canada.
• She completed post-graduate studies in town planning at the U of T and a course at Columbia University.
• She was registered as an architect in Alberta in 1925 and in BC in 1952.
• She was the first woman to serve on the Victoria town planning committee, 1946-52.

She did not marry.

She died in 1895 in Victoria, British Columbia^[6]
