Note N00100A letter from F.W.Baber (Frank Walker Baber, 11 Mar 1873-30 Nov 1953) dated Oct. 13, 1949, gives Sallie (Sarah) Tapscott's father's name as William. In this letter, F.W. Baber refers to Isaac Baber, Sallie Tapscott's husband, as his "great grandpa". 1

While it is not unlikely that George's wife was named Sarah Sally Hill, no contemporary record or reliable secondary record has been found showing any portion of that name, which appears to come from family tradition and from the fact that George had a daughter named Sarah S. and a son and grandson whose middle names appear to have been Hill (from questionable secondary sources). Moreover, reliable records only show that George's wife was born bef 1766 (1810 U.S. census, Virginia, Buckingham Co, William Tapscott household, unnumbered, 24th page, line 4.) and died aft 31 Aug 1810 (Eric G. Grundset, Buckingham County, Virginia Surveyor’s Plat Book, 1762-1858, 2nd edition, 2002.).
