Biography

This profile is part of the Hildreth Name Study.

Morgan Edward Hildreth was born on 12 September 1938 in Pensacola, Escambia County, Florida. He was the son of Morgan Bascom Hildreth (1910-1991) and Lucile (Raynor) Hildreth (1910-2004). He was enumerated in the household of his parents on the 1940 and 1950 United States Censuses.[1][2]

Morgan was a graduate of Murphy High School, Mobile, Mobile County, Alabama.

He was married several times and was the father of several children. Some of his wives and children are still living so, because of privacy concerns, will not be discussed in detail here. One daughter, Cheryl Lynnette Hildreth, died very young.[3]

One of Morgan Edward's sisters said of him, "Morgan was a true 50's teenager from beginning to end! Dancing, Cool Cars & Duck Tails." He was an avid Elvis Presley fan. He owned a juke box which was in his living room that played 45's. He collected old "milk shake" glasses from the 1950s.

He worked for Scott Paper Company in Mobile, Alabama for a while. He drove for the Greyhound Bus. He owned entertainment venues in New Orleans Louisiana, including a bar. Then, for many years, he drove a limousine. Among his celebrity clients was Oakland Raiders owner Al Davis, who he drove to the 1999 Super Bowl.[4]

Morgan Edward Hildreth passed away on 26 October 2000 in Fort Lauderdale, Broward County, Florida.[5][6] He was buried at Pine Crest Cemetery in Mobile County, Alabama.[7]

His obituary, which appeared in the Mobile Press Register, named his parents, his siblings, his children and his grandchildren. [8]
